OnePlus 13 launching this month: Design, battery, display and other leaked changes expected

The OnePlus 13 is coming, and we will soon have a launch date for it. The OnePlus 12 is already considered one of the best flagship models of 2024 as the device managed to woo people with its solid specs without burning a hole in users’ pocket. But, the leaks have suggested that its successor would be even better in terms of experience and performance. Here is everything you need to know.
We don’t have a launch date yet, but OnePlus China President Louis Lee recently confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will debut in October 2024. Now that we have entered October, OnePlus is expected to start teasing the OnePlus 13 and reveal the release date soon. As far as the India launch is concerned, the company won’t likely bring it this year because the OnePlus 12 was launched just 8 months ago in India. Also, the company has a track record of first launching its flagship model in China and then in global markets like India. The leaks have also suggested that the OnePlus 13 will arrive in India and other regions by early 2025.
The OnePlus 13 is tipped to pack a massive 6,000mAh battery, which would be a big upgrade over the 5,400mAh battery seen on the previous model. It will likely have support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. While retaining the same vibration motor and main camera as its predecessor, the OnePlus 13 will reportedly feature a larger 6.8-inch display with the typical punch-hole design. This screen may remain flat but with curved glass on all four sides, giving it a nearly bezel-less appearance. One notable change might also be the introduction of a real ceramic body, a premium design shift reported by Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station.
It is also said to come with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics, which will allow people to unlock the device even if their fingers are oily or dirty. Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. This chip is expected to be announced at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon event on October 23 and after that, OnePlus is expected to announce its new flagship phone with the same processor. It will likely be backed by up to 24GB of RAM.
However, there’s some bad news for potential buyers. The top-end variant of the OnePlus 13, which is expected to offer 24GB of RAM and possibly 1TB of storage, might come with a price hike compared to the OnePlus 12 with a similar configuration. To recall, the OnePlus 12 was launched in India at Rs 64,999. So, the OnePlus 13 is expected to cost higher because the company has been increasing the prices with every new release. The reason for the price hike could also be upgrades coming in battery, chipset, display, design, and other areas.
